Engineering is considered one of the most prestigious degrees in India and many aspiring students with creative minds and a knack for innovation opting for it. Engineering students are trained in both theoretical and practical aspects it is imperative that they get into an esteem institution which caters to their needs.

There are many Competitive entrance exams such as IIT-JEE, JEE Mains, KCET, KEAM, COMEDK etc. These are the gateways to prestigious institutions like the IIT’s, NIT’s and the state-affiliated colleges hence attract immense competition there are other exams which attract relatively less competition like the Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET). This is a national level entrance examination held in 80 different exam centers distributed across India which helps secure a seat in some of the top institutes for Under Graduate, Post Graduate, and Integrated Courses.

CUCET Recognition:

The CUCET mandates recognition in central Universities like the University of Haryana, Jharkhand, Jammu, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Punjab, Rajasthan, South Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar School of Economics- Bengaluru. The Central University of Rajasthan has absolute rights for conducting CUCET 2018 examination and the control of the college admissions process and allotment of seats.

  • Integrated Courses: Integrated M.Sc., Integrated B.Tech, Integrated M.Tech, Integrated MA, Integrated MBA, Integrated BA-LLB, Integrated B.Sc-M.Sc, Integrated M.sc B.Ed.
  • Under Graduate Courses: B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology), B.E (Bachelor of Engineering), BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), B.Sc (Bachelor of Science), BA (Bachelor of Arts), B.Voc (Bachelor of Vocational Education).
  • Post Graduate Courses: Sc. (Master of Science), M.Tech(Master of Technology), M.Pharm(Master of Pharmacy), MA(Master of Arts), LLM(Master of Legislative Law), MCA(Master of Computer Application) amongst others.

Eligibility Criteria & Registration process:

To attain a UG or an Integrated degree the applicant should have completed or been pursuing 10+2 and should be a citizen of India. To attain a PG Course the Candidate, need to hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized board in order to be eligible for applying while being a citizen of India.

The CUCET uses modern technology in their application process, the candidate needs to register themselves from the official website of CUCET then before applying online for CUCET candidate is required to have scanned image of his/ her photograph and signature as per prescribed specifications. The aspiring candidates have to first register themselves after which, they have to fill the CUCET application form online only. as in the case of the fee, payment candidate can make, either online payment or offline payment.

CUCET Syllabus and Exam Patterns:

     A candidate wanting to get admission in B.Tech, B.Sc. need to concentrate on Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology(if related) apart from this candidate need to concentrate on English. The candidates willing to take admission in another course than the above courses, need to prepare on English, Numerical Aptitude/Data Interpretation, Analytical Skills, Reasoning, General Aptitude, General Knowledge. Going through Syllabus Charts and referring previous year question paper will help prepare better for the examination.

CUCET examination will be conducted in offline mode i.e. pen and paper-based. The paper will be divided into 2 parts in which, Part A consists of 25 MCQs Part B consist of 75 MCQs. Part A consists of English Language, Mathematical Aptitude, General Awareness and Analytical Skills whereas Part B consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. Candidates need to attempt any three sections i.e. PCM or PCB depending on their preference. In this, Candidates are awarded one mark for each correct answer. There is a negative marking of 0.25 mark for each incorrect answer.
