CAT the key to Success:

To be admitted into some of these prestigious institutions, one has to clear the CAT examination. It is a National Level online examination which tests the candidates on fields such as Verbal Ability, Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation. CAT is Conducted by one of the IIM’s every year on a policy of rotation.

To be eligible the candidate must be a graduate with a minimum of 50% of marks, while there is no limit set on age, there is, however, a clause that the candidate must be a Citizen of India.

The core syllabus concepts in Maths and Quantitative aptitude for 2018 CAT are LCM & HCF, Trigonometry, Percentages and its application, Probability, Permutation and combination, Algebra, Time Work, Mensuration, Ratio and its applications, Averages, Geometry and its applications amongst others.

The courses that are primarily offered through CAT are MBA, Executive MBA, Distance MBA. Some of the colleges Which Recognise CAT are IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Amritsar, IIM Lucknow, IIM Raipur, IIM Rohtak, IIM Shillong, IIM Udaipur among others. They have high cutoff marks as they each attract about 2 lakh registrations each.
