- Stage-I Screening test (written examination): One-hour objective multiple-choice test on OMR with 40 marks (Road Sign recognition 20 marks, General Knowledge 20 marks). Marks in this test are not counted for the final merit list. Candidates up to 5 times the vacancies in order of merit from this test are called for the driving test.
- Stage-II Driving test: Driving test of 40 marks across segments: starting, driving, parking, and after driving (10 marks each). Candidates must score at least 50% (20 out of 40) to qualify. Candidates up to 3 times the vacancies in order of merit from this test are called for the interview.
- Stage-III Interview/Viva-Voce and document verification: Interview/viva-voce and document verification for 20 marks. Candidates must secure at least 60% (12 out of 20) to qualify. Final selection is based on total marks obtained in the driving test and the interview.
