Qualification Requirements
Essential qualification is a recognized postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DNB) in the relevant discipline. For Neurology, candidates with MD/DNB in Medicine/Paediatrics or DM/DrNB (Neurology) may apply; for Neurosurgery, MS/DNB in Surgery or MCh/DrNB (Neurosurgery) may apply. Selection Process
- Shortlisting: If there are more applications than can be called, the competent authority may shortlist candidates on criteria it fixes to limit the number of candidates called for in-person processes.
- Certificate verification: Certificate verification is held at the Administrative Block, JIPMER Puducherry (5th Floor, Telemedicine Room, IT Wing) on 18-11-2026; only candidates whose certificates are found in order may appear for the interview.
- Interview: Candidates attend an in-person interview; reporting time is 07:00 AM and no candidate is entertained after 08:30 AM. The personal interview has a weightage of 100% for merit.
- Merit list and waiting list: Separate merit lists are prepared for SC/ST/OBC/UR/EWS/PwBDs based on the interview. A waiting list is operated only when necessary and does not guarantee appointment.
- Final appointment: Appointment is subject to medical fitness by the competent Medical Board and other terms; selected candidates must join within the stipulated period or the offer may be cancelled.
