Selection Process
- Shortlisting: Valid applications will be shortlisted before calling candidates for further tests.
- Driving Test: Shortlisted candidates will take a driving test worth 20 marks.
- Interview: Candidates will attend an interview worth 20 marks; driving test and interview together total 40 marks and a merit list will be prepared.
- Medical Examination: Provisionally selected candidates must undergo a medical fitness test as directed by the competent authority.
- Verification of Character and Antecedents: Selected candidates must submit a Police Clearance Certificate or undergo character and antecedent verification at joining.
How to Apply
- Download the application format from the West Bengal Police website (https://wbpolice.gov.in/) or Howrah GRP website (https://howrahgrp.wb.gov.in/).
- Print the application on white A4 size paper.
- Fill the application in CAPITAL LETTERS.
- Paste one recent self-attested passport-size photograph (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) on the top right of the application.
- Attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, Driving Licence, educational certificates, and experience certificate.
- Superscribe the envelope as ‘APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF DRIVER (CONTRACTUAL), 2026’.
- Submit the application in the DROP BOX or by Speed Post to the Office of the Superintendent of Railway Police, Howrah, 2nd Floor Yatri Niwas, New Complex, Howrah Rly Station, Howrah-711101 on or before 21 October 2026.
