Qualification Requirements
For ITI trades: 10th standard pass plus ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in the relevant trade. Crane Operator Overhead and Forger & Heat Treater: 10th pass (fresher). Rigger: 8th pass (fresher). Candidates with grade/CGPA must provide an equivalent percentage as per the board’s norms before applying.

Selection Process
- Preliminary merit list: Valid applications are placed in trade- and category-wise preliminary merit lists. For ITI trades ranking is based on aggregate percentage of ITI and 10th marks; for non-ITI trades on 8th or 10th percentage as applicable. Ties are broken by age (older first) then alphabetical order.
- Written examination shortlisting: Candidates are called in a 1:20 ratio (20 candidates for each vacancy) for a 100-mark OMR written exam at Karwar. E-admit cards are sent by email.
- Written examination: A two-hour bilingual (English/Hindi) OMR multiple-choice paper: Mathematics (35), General Science (35), General Knowledge (30), total 100 marks, no negative marking. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% aggregate.
- Final merit and document verification: Final merit lists and a 20% waitlist are prepared trade- and category-wise on written-exam marks (separate for Karwar and Goa). Shortlisted candidates attend document verification; joining letters are sent to the registered email.
- Medical and police verification: Joining is subject to medical fitness (District Hospital certificate in Navy format signed by a surgeon not below Assistant Surgeon) and police verification.

- Log in, complete profile including 10th (or 8th for Rigger) and ITI details, trade preference, bank details, and validate Aadhaar.
- Under ‘Apprenticeship Opportunities’ search ‘Naval Dockyard, Karwar’, click Apply against your eligible trade and select ‘Uttara Kannada’.
