Selection Process
- Preliminary Examination (Tier I): Qualifying online objective test of 100 marks and 60 minutes. Sections: English Language (30 marks), Reasoning (35 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (35 marks). Preliminary exam marks are not counted for final merit.
- Main Examination (Tier II): Online objective and descriptive tests. For Generalists: Objective Test 200 questions, 250 marks, 150 minutes plus Descriptive Test 30 marks, 30 minutes. For Hindi Officers: Objective Test 150 questions, 200 marks, 120 minutes plus Descriptive Test 50 marks, 60 minutes. Main exam marks are used for final merit.
- Interview: Candidates who qualify the Main Examination are called for interview (up to three times the vacancies). Final merit ratio: Generalists – Main Objective Test and Interview 75:25 (Descriptive not counted); Hindi Officers – Main (Objective + Descriptive) and Interview 75:25.
How to Apply
- Visit the Recruitment section on the UIIC official website and click on ‘Apply Online’.
- Click ‘Click here for New Registration’ and enter name, contact details and email to generate a Provisional Registration Number and Password.
- Log in using the provisional credentials and fill in the application form, using ‘Save and Next’ to complete in stages.
- Upload scanned photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration as per specified formats and sizes.
- Preview the completed application form and verify all details carefully before final submission.
- Click ‘Complete Registration’ after confirming details (no changes permitted afterward).
- Proceed to the Payment tab and pay the applicable application fee/service charges online.
- Click ‘Submit’ and take a printout of the system-generated application form and payment receipt for future reference.
