Qualification Requirements

For Level 2/3 posts: Passed Class 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent from a Government-recognized Board/Council/Institution. For Level 1 posts: Passed Class 10th (Matriculation) or ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. For Technician-III posts against Sports Quota minimum is Class 10th; training period is 3 years unless candidate holds relevant ITI, in which case training reduces to 6 months.

Selection Process

  • Sports Trial: Candidates undergo a sports trial assessed for game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observations. Trial carries 40 marks and candidates must score 25 or more out of 40 to be declared ‘FIT’ and proceed to the interview; those scoring below 25 are ‘NOT FIT’ and not assessed further.
  • Interview – Sports Achievement: Interview includes assessment of sports achievements and carries 50 marks. This evaluates the candidate’s sporting record as per the notified norms.
  • Interview – Educational Qualification: Interview also assesses educational qualifications and carries 10 marks; minimum qualification gives 6 marks and higher qualifications attract higher marks.
  • Final Merit, Medical & Posting: Final selection is based on a 100-mark merit list (trial + interview). Selected candidates must qualify the prescribed medical examination, undergo document verification, complete probation (two years) and sign a Service Bond to serve at least five years; in case of a tie preference is given to the younger candidate.
