- Senior Secretariat Assistant (SSA) / Upper Division Clerk (UDC): 65 vacancies
Qualification: Regularly appointed Lower Division Clerk (JSA/LDC) of Central Secretariat Clerical Service (CSCS), DoPT, with required length of approved continuous service (not less than five years as on 01-08-2025; alternatively four years in certain competitive appointment cases) and required typewriting test pass or valid exemption.

Selection Process
- Stage 1 – Computer Based Examination (Part-I): A 200-mark objective Computer Based Examination with four subjects (Comprehension & General English, Parliamentary Procedure, General Knowledge, Noting & Drafting). Candidates must qualify this stage to move to the next stage.
- Stage 2 – Evaluation of Service Records (Part-II): Only candidates who qualify the CBE will have their Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (APARs) evaluated for up to 100 marks.
- Final Merit Compilation: Final ranking is based on the combined aggregate of Part-I (200 marks) and Part-II (100 marks) for a total of 300 marks; names are arranged in order of merit for inclusion in the Select List.
How to Apply
- Visit the official SSC website: https://ssc.gov.in
- Complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website if not already done and opt for Aadhaar-Based Authentication as advised.
- Log in using your Registration Number and password, then click ‘Apply’ under the Senior Secretariat Assistant / Upper Division Clerk Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025 (CSCS, DoPT).
- Select your Service/Cadre as Central Secretariat Clerical Service, DoPT and enter joining date in feeder service and length of service to verify eligibility.
- Provide typewriting test details (date passed, roll no.) or exemption order details where applicable.
- Capture a live photograph on the portal, upload scanned signature in JPEG format (10-20 KB), and upload mandatory service documents.
- Preview and submit the application, print the submitted application, and have it forwarded through your Head of Department/Head of Office to SSC (NR), New Delhi so it reaches by 23-07-2026 (6:00 PM).
