Qualification Requirements

Either (Route I) B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing or Post-Certificate/Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institute/university with registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council; OR (Route II) Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery (GNM) from a recognized institute/board/council with registration as a Nurse and Midwife and two years’ experience in a minimum 50-bedded hospital acquired after obtaining the essential qualification.

Selection Process

  • 1: A 90-minute qualifying computer-based test with 100 MCQs (100 marks): 20 on General Knowledge & Aptitude and 80 on Nursing subjects. Negative marking of one-third for each wrong answer. This stage only qualifies candidates for Stage II and is not used for final merit. Qualifying percentiles: UR/EWS 50, OBC 45, SC/ST 40 with 5 percentile relaxation for PWBD.
  • 2: A 180-minute computer-based test with 160 case-scenario-based MCQs (160 marks) covering nursing syllabus and clinical competency. Negative marking of one-third for each wrong answer. Final merit is based solely on Stage II performance. Qualifying marks: UR/EWS 50%, OBC 45%, SC/ST 40% with 5% PWBD relaxation. Candidates for Stage II are called up to 5 times the seats per category.
