Selection Process
- Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio per category based on total marks (Mains + Personality Test) from UPSC CSE-2024.
- Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): Shortlisted candidates must appear for a qualifying Computer Proficiency Test of 100 marks and 1 hour covering Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and PowerPoint; qualifying thresholds vary by category.
- Final selection and cadre allocation: Final selection is based on CSE-2024 total marks subject to qualifying the CPT; a single merit list is prepared and CSIR allocates cadre based on merit and candidate preference.

- Note the User ID and password sent to your registered email/mobile and log in.
- Complete and lock the profile page and fill all six tabs: Apply, Personal Details, Education, Experience, Additional Details, Uploads.
- Upload scanned photograph (jpg, <50 KB), signature (jpg, <50 KB), and required certificates (pdf, <1 MB each).
- Preview and verify the application, then click Submit.
- Pay the applicable fee via SBI Collect (if applicable) and upload the e-Receipt before the last date.
- Take a printout of the final submitted application for future reference.
