Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has opened online applications (29-07-2026 to 14-08-2026) for 120 trainee posts: 60 Design Trainees and 60 Management Trainees across engineering disciplines. Eligible candidates must have a full-time Bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology in specified branches with required aggregate (70% for UR/OBC/EWS; 60% for SC/ST/PwBD). Selection includes an All-India online test followed by an interview at Bengaluru. Training lasts 52 weeks with a stipend (Basic ₹50,000) and post-training absorption on Grade-II pay scale ₹50,000-1,60,000 subject to a 5-year service bond.

Qualification Requirements

Full-time/Regular Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (10+2+4 pattern or 10+3+3 for lateral entry) in the notified/eligible branches for each post. Part-time/correspondence/distance education are not eligible. 5-year integrated engineering degrees are acceptable. Final year students may apply subject to meeting the prescribed aggregate percentage at the time of final selection. Required aggregate: UR/OBC-NCL/EWS – 70%; SC/ST/PwBD – 60%.

Selection Process

  • Online Computer Based Selection Test: All-India online test of 2.5 hours with MCQs in three parts: Part I – 20 MCQs on General Awareness; Part II – 40 MCQs on English & Reasoning; Part III – 100 MCQs on the concerned discipline. Test can be taken in Hindi or English.
  • Shortlisting for Interview: Candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on Online Test marks in the ratio of 1:5 to the number of vacancies in each discipline and category.
  • Personal Interview: Personal Interview to be held at Bengaluru. Interview carries 15% weightage in final selection.
  • Final Merit List: Final merit is prepared with 85% weight for the Online Test and 15% for the Interview. Candidates must secure at least 50% marks each in Written Test and Interview (relaxation as per rules).
  • Pre-employment Medical Examination: Provisionally selected candidates must undergo a pre-employment medical exam and meet company medical standards before appointment.
