Qualification Requirements

Junior Technician posts: NTC/NAC in the relevant trade issued by NCVT. Executive posts: B.E./B.Tech in respective engineering disciplines for engineering posts; Graduate degree with MBA/PG Diploma or specific professional qualifications for HR/Finance/Company Secretary posts; Chartered Accountant for Consultant (Finance & Audit); Postgraduate degree for certain roles (e.g., M.A. for Official Language, PG degree in Journalism & Mass Communication for Public Relations). Equivalent engineering disciplines are accepted as listed in the notification.

Selection Process

  • Junior Technician selection: A Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a qualifying Trade Test (practical) at the respective AVNL unit. Merit for Junior Technicians is decided solely on written test marks; trade test is qualifying as per Annexure-A.
  • Junior Manager / Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager selection: A Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by an Interview (50 marks) which carries 15% weight; merit is based on combined written exam and interview scores.
  • Senior Manager / Deputy General Manager / Additional General Manager / Consultant selection: No CBT. Assessment is through presentation, evaluation of experience and expertise, and an interview conducted at AVNL CO, Avadi.
  • Shortlisting ratio and notification: Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called for Interview or Trade Test in a post:candidate ratio of 1:3 (final ratio decided by AVNL). Shortlist and final selections are published on the AVNL website.
