- Driver: 385 vacancies
Qualification: 9th class pass; valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) licence with Heavy Goods and Heavy Passenger endorsements; 7 years since obtaining a motor vehicle licence and 3 years holding the HMV licence (ex-servicemen exception applies). - Conductor: 345 vacancies
Qualification: 10th class pass; valid conductor licence under the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 (may be produced within one month of appointment). - Driver-cum-Conductor: 310 vacancies
Qualification: 10th class pass; valid heavy driving licence; at least 5 years’ experience driving heavy passenger vehicles (proof required); conductor licence to be obtained after selection within the time fixed.

Selection Process
- Application scrutiny and shortlisting: All applications are checked and a shortlist of candidates is prepared.
- Post-specific tests: Driver: driving skill test. Conductor: written test. Driver-cum-Conductor: written test and driving skill test.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates who clear the tests attend an interview conducted by the selection committee.
- Rank list and appointment: A rank list of successful candidates is published; temporary appointments are made in rank order as vacancies arise. The rank list is valid for one year.
- Contract, deposit and training: Selected candidates sign a contract, submit a Rs. 30,000 refundable security deposit, undergo training and must serve a two-year bond.
