Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT): A multiple-choice CBT of 2 hours (85 marks) covering domain subject (40 questions), general awareness (10), aptitude (25) and English (10). CBT scores carry 85 marks weight and are used to shortlist candidates for interview normally in a 1:5 ratio per category; qualifying marks: General/EWS/OBC 45%, SC/ST/PwBD 40%.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates are interviewed; interview carries 15 marks weight. Qualifying marks for interview: General/EWS/OBC 60% (9/15), SC/ST/PwBD 40% (6/15). A group discussion may be held but is not of qualifying nature.
- Medical Fitness: Candidates who qualify CBT and interview must undergo medical fitness as per ONGC Medical Examination rules before Offer of Appointment is issued.
