Selection Process
- Merit list preparation – Fresher category: Merit list is prepared using Matriculation (10th) marks converted to a 200-point scale. Minimum 50% aggregate in 10th is required except for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
- Merit list preparation – Ex-ITI category: Merit list is prepared by adding Matriculation marks converted to 100 and ITI marks converted to 100 for a total of 200, giving equal weightage to both.
- Merit list preparation – MLT category: Higher Secondary marks (Physics, Chemistry, Math & Biology) are converted to 200 to prepare the merit list for MLT posts.
- Tie-breaking: If there is a tie in marks, the older candidate is preferred. If date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier is preferred.
- Document verification & medical fitness: Shortlisted candidates are called for document verification; medical fitness under Schedule-II of Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 must be confirmed via a government-authorized doctor’s certificate at document verification.

What stipend / pay scale will apprentices receive?
Fresher (10th Std) apprentices receive Rs. 8,200/- per month; Fresher (12th Std) and Ex-ITI apprentices receive Rs. 9,600/- per month. The stipend increases by 10% in the second year and by a further 15% in the third year over the prescribed minimum.
