Selection Process
- Written Examination: Objective type written exam set by UPSC. For IMA/INA/AFA the written test has English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics (total 300 marks). For OTA the written test has English and General Knowledge (total 200 marks).
- SSB Intelligence & Personality Test: Candidates who qualify the written exam are called for SSB tests. SSB has Stage I (OIR tests and PP&DT) and Stage II (interview, GTO tasks, psychology tests and conference) conducted over four days.
- Medical Examination: Final selection is subject to being declared medically fit as per the Joint Order Manual of Medical Standards for Entry into Armed Forces.
How to Apply
- Visit the UPSC online application portal at https://upsconline.nic.in and create an account/URN if not already registered.
- Complete the Universal Registration (URN), fill the Common Application Form (CAF) and the Examination Specific Module for CDS-II 2026.
- Upload scanned passport-size photograph, live webcam photograph (if required), and signature (as specified).
- Pay the application fee online (Rs. 200 for General/OBC/EWS males; NIL for females and SC/ST) using Net Banking/Debit/Credit/Rupay/UPI.
- Submit the application before 09-06-2026 (6:00 PM) and retain the application number/URN for future reference.

What is the minimum educational qualification required to apply?
For IMA and OTA a degree of a recognised university or equivalent is required. For INA a degree in engineering or a B.Sc. with Physics as core/elective (and Physics & Mathematics at 10+2) is needed; for AFA a degree with Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 or a Bachelor of Engineering is required.

What stipend or pay will candidates receive during training?
Stipend during training for all academies is Rs. 56,100/- per month, which is the starting pay in Level 10.
