Selection Process
- Application: Submit online application on the official portal and register if not already registered.
- Shortlisting: Candidates are shortlisted for SSB based on a 100-point scheme: up to 50 marks for NCC ‘C’ Certificate grading (50 for ‘A’ Grade, 25 for ‘B’ Grade) and up to 50 marks for graduation performance (sliding scale from below 60% to 85%+).
- SSB (Service Selection Board) interview: Shortlisted candidates attend a two-stage SSB interview (Stage I and Stage II) conducted over up to 5 days at designated centres; only those who clear Stage I proceed to Stage II.
- Medical examination: Candidates recommended by the SSB undergo a medical examination to confirm fitness for service.
- Merit list: A merit list is prepared based on SSB marks; ties are broken by age (older ranked higher) then by qualifying exam percentage.
- Joining letter: Candidates in the merit list and within available vacancies, subject to eligibility and medical fitness, are issued joining letters.

- After registration, click ‘Apply Online’ under the Dashboard, then click ‘Apply’ against Short Service Commission NCC Special Entry Course.
- Fill personal, communication, education and previous SSB details, clicking ‘Save & Continue’ after each section.
- Review the summary and click ‘Submit’ only after confirming all details are correct.
- Take two printouts of the application (with roll number) 30 minutes after the online application closes on the last day. Note: Only one application allowed; multiple applications will be cancelled.
