Qualification: Matriculation (10th) with minimum 50% AND 3-year Diploma (AICTE-recognised) with minimum 50% in relevant trade (Engineering/Electrical).

Selection Process
- Stage I – INET: Computer-based INET exam (100 multiple-choice questions, 1 hour, bilingual). Candidates must pass all sections and aggregate; negative marking of 0.25 for wrong answers.
- Stage II – Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Qualifying PFT is mandatory (1.6 km run, squats, push-ups, sit-ups with specified standards). Candidates attempt PFT at their own risk.
- Stage II – Written Examination: Written objective exam for candidates who qualify PFT; separate papers for Engineering and Electrical streams; 100 questions, 1 hour, bilingual; must pass all sections and aggregate.
- Stage II – Recruitment Medical Examination: Medical exam for candidates who qualify PFT; candidates found unfit may appeal within 5 days at designated Military Hospitals; medical fitness from non-designated hospitals will not be considered.
- Stage III – Pre-Enrolment Medical at INS Chilka: Final pre-enrolment medical formalities at INS Chilka; induction is subject to passing this medical; candidates failing this will be rejected.
How to Apply
- Visit https://joinindiannavy.gov.in and register as AVR (Apprentice).
- Login → AVR (Apprentice) → INET 2/26 → Proceed to apply.
- Fill the online form, upload required scanned documents (matriculation certificate, diploma certificate, domicile, photo, etc.) and a recent passport-size photo (10 KB to 50 KB).
- Pay examination fee of ₹550 + 18% GST online via Net Banking / Credit Card / Debit Card / UPI.
- Select state preference for INET centre; download call-up letter from portal before the exam. Use correction window on 06-07-2026 if required.
