Selection Process
- 1: Applications are screened in merit order based on eligibility and the prescribed qualification for each trade, region-wise.
- 2: Incomplete or ineligible applications are summarily rejected without intimation.
- 3: Reservation for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD is applied as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
- 4: Candidates are called for document verification in a ratio of 1:5 against notified slots, in merit order; shortlisted candidates are informed via their registered email.
- 5: A final merit list is prepared after document verification; selected candidates must accept a tripartite apprenticeship contract on the NATS/NAPS portal and submit medical certificate and police verification before engagement.
How to Apply
- Register on NAPS (for ITI-Electrician) at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in or on NATS (for Degree/Diploma) at nats.education.gov.in and complete/update your profile with all required documents.
- Obtain the NAPS/NATS registration/enrolment number.
- Visit www.powergrid.in and navigate to Careers → Engagement of Apprentices → Apply Online.
- Select the single region/state you wish to apply for (only one allowed).
- Fill the online application with required details and upload documents.
- Submit the application before 10-09-2026. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.

Candidates must possess the prescribed full-time qualification for the trade (ITI/Diploma/B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc.(Engg.)) from a recognized institute and must have passed the final exam between 11-09-2024 and 10-09-2026. Part-time, correspondence, distance or online qualifications are not accepted and candidates must be medically fit.
